Compounding Unavailable Medicine’s

All of the current Medicine shortages are listed on the TGA website at tga.gov.au/prod/MSI/search/

National Custom Compounding can compounding prescription medication when the manufacturer is out of stock. We will contact the Patient’s Doctor to notify them, that we will be compounding the medication to the same strength as the required prescription.

National Custom Compounding will contact the Patient and their Pharmacy if there are any challenges with the process or request.

Please note that the price of the medicine will be different to the regular price and it may not be PBS remunerated.

  • BACTROBAN 20mg/g cream
  • BACTROBAN 20mg/g ointment
  • CORDILOX SR 240mg tablet
  • STIEVA-A 0.1% cream
  • AKINETON 2mg tablet
  • TOFRANIL 25 25mg tablet
  • SIMPLOTAN 500 mg tablet
  • EES 400 (as ethylsuccinate) tablet

Pricing

Compounding medicine is more expensive to produce then the manufactured medicine. Please see the below pricing and notify your patients.

  • BACTROBAN (mupirocin) 20mg/g cream – $50.00 (15 grams)
  • BACTROBAN (mupirocin) 20mg/g ointment – $50.00 (15 grams)

NCC Promise

We appreciate that unavailable medicines can cause a number of issues including addition stress to patients that are unfamiliar with the time required to make compounded medicines. We will endeavor to have these medicines ready for customers within 24 hours.

Discontinued Medicines

In addition to unavailable medicines, Manufactures choose to discontinue the supply of some medicines in Australia.
